In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 sticks of unsalted butter
Mix well. Add
2 cups of flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon lavender buds
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
Mix well and pat the dough into a greased 9 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle the dough with two tablespoons sugar. Preheat the oven for 350 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool then cut into bars.
