:: lavender lemon thyme shortbread ::

  • In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter
  • Mix well. Add

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon lavender buds
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme

  • Mix well and pat the dough into a greased 9 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle the dough with two tablespoons sugar. Preheat the oven for 350 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool then cut into bars.
